 About The Author



My name is Lia Emochuo. I was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and I’m from Imo State. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling—through words, through images, or both at once. Writing and drawing have never been separate for me. They’re two sides of the same thing: building worlds, shaping emotions, and expressing what I don’t always say out loud.


I don’t force creativity. It comes naturally. Whether I’m writing a character’s story or illustrating a moment that doesn’t need words, it’s how I think. It’s how I process. It’s what I do best.


I value quiet, personal space, and having the freedom to create without noise. That doesn’t mean I have nothing to say—it means I choose how to say it. For me, storytelling is where clarity and control meet.


I don’t create to prove anything. I create because I’ve always known I could.
